Treetop adventure parks are the newest imported adventure to hit the US. Following quickly in the footsteps of zipline canopy tours which jumped to the US a short 6 to 7 years ago from Costa Rica and the Caribbean, adventure parks have gained tremendous popularity in Europe with thousands operating from Sweden to France, Belgium, and Germany. There are only a hand full in the US at this time and none of this scale and style in North Carolina.
Asheville Treetops Adventure Park includes approximately 50 unique climbing, zipping, walking, jumping, swinging, and rappelling challenges anchored to over 30 trees and towering poles tucked in the wooded park. The park will open with 4 trails to choose from including 1 easy “Green” trail, 2 intermediate “Yellow” trails, and 1 advanced “Red” trail. Each “Trail” will include 10 to 15 different challenges to complete the circuit.
Green Trail: Easier challenges 12 to 15 feet above the forest floor for first timers, younger children, and more timid adventurers. No climbing once on the start platform, milder and more stable crossings attached to the lower trunks of the trees with minimal movement and an easy finish back to the ground.
Yellow Trails: Two trails of similar challenge level with increased heights up to 30 feet above the forest floor providing several climbing challenges and increased exposure to moving elements. The Yellow trails include most of our Asheville sports and fun elements such as kayaking, treetop sliding board, hang glider, giddy up horse swing zipline crossing, and the tree top parkway tunnels. Exits include a rappel and a cargo net escape.
Red Trail: Prepare for adventure, personal challenge, and lots of exposure with trees swaying and structures moving as you traverse the highest and most physically and mentally challenging activities in the park. At heights up to 45 feet above the forest floor you will climb numerous times as you gain elevation and reach the pinnacle of the park to face the Tarzan traverse, tree top climbing wall, firemen’s pole, dancing hula hoops, and bottomless Burma Bridge. One of our most challenging crossings, “Hole 13”, and most exhilarating, “Big Air” snowboard zip, complete the 15 element Red Trail with a rappel back to the Sweet…Solid….Stable ground.
