Our personal training staff is nationally certified, experienced and caring individuals who enjoy helping others reach their potential. From the moment you are a member, we are working to get you involved and we start with a complimentary fitness assessment or consultation. We will be your guide through your very first workout here, answer your questions, and make sure you feel at home.
My fitness philosophy is to have a positive attitude and to reach out to all fitness levels and ages. A sensible, safe, hard-working and fun approach to exercise is always my focus. I am passionate about teaching fitness whether it’s through personal training one-on-one or working with a room full of members in a group class setting. Exercise is a stress reliever, it is therapeutic, energizing, and should make you feel good.

I started my career over 20 years ago as a fitness instructor and personal trainer in Florida at some of the most recognized resorts, spas, and fitness centers. When I moved to Asheville I took over the position of fitness coordinator, personal trainer and fitness instructor at the Grove Park Inn. I stayed there for 5 years before leaving to work at Southeastern Fitness and Rehabilitation. Working with physical therapist has taught me a lot about rehab and injury prevention. My continued commitment to fitness enables me to develop programs to fit the individuals needs as well as keeping pace with any new fitness trends.

I grew up on the tennis courts in Dallas, Texas and played competitively for years along with other sports. After earning my Bachelors degree from Texas A &M University in Science Education along with a teaching degree, I have now fully fused my love of teaching with science and sports/fitness. A local physical therapist has taught me how to specifically train and help a very wide range of people, from those with chronic ailments to elite athletes. I have had the privilege of also working with NFL and NBA speed and agility coaches, which makes me realize how much more I can learn as a teacher. I have a passion for post-rehab with experience training hip replacement, knee replacement, spinal fusion, chemotherapy, arthritis, neuropathy, and others. Teenagers also have a special place in my heart. My husband and I have been working with teenagers for over 20 years. I would be excited to be your trainer! I have a lot of experience (and continually learning) and passion not just for training, but for people. I really want to help you achieve your body, health and life goals.

An Asheville transplant since age 9, Ariel Sanders was head personal trainer during her time at UNC-Chapel Hill, gaining know-how and proficiency teaching specialty group fitness classes such as TRX and high intensity boot camps. Ariel has a holistic approach to fitness. Her philosophy is to cultivate a balanced and agile body, incorporating the most effective elements from an assortment of fitness regimens to sculpt and strengthen the body. Meticulous about proper form, she teaches her clients how to move with grace and fluidity. She designs fun, safe, and creative programs for all ages and fitness abilities, but specializes in body sculpting, weight loss, athletic performance and youth development. Since childhood, Ariel practiced numerous sports including rock climbing, fencing, hockey and tennis, while dancing ballet from a young age. Her experience engaging in a wide array of sporting activities brought with it the enthusiasm to seek greater knowledge on sports conditioning and training. AFAA certified, she currently whips her dedicated clients into peak shape at the Asheville Racquet Club in South Asheville.

As a former competitive athlete and sports coach for over 25 years I believe in optimizing personal fitness and athleticism by providing individualized training after a thorough assessment. Working with physical therapists for years has provided me with knowledge to rehabilitate as well as prevent injuries. As Exercise Specialist of the Diabetes Health and Education Center at Mission Hospital, I consulted with patients of different metabolic diseases, taught diabetes and hypertension classes concerning the role of exercise for those and other diseases. Having facilitated weight loss classes for the past 15 years with a consistent high success rate in losing and maintaining weight, I feel comfortable to find a solution for your quest for an optimal wellness state.

Brittney Baldwin has been teaching group fitness classes at ARC for the past two years. She is an Asheville lover and native. She has a bachelors in Health and Wellness Promotion from University of North Carolina at Asheville, a minor in Spanish, extensive medical training, and a certification to teach multiple fitness courses as well as a Personal Training certification through AFAA. She loves people, outdoors, and anything involving fun. Brittney is certified as a as a CNA 1 and CNA 2, licensed medical assistant, and personal safety expert. Brittney loves to motivate herself and her clients by pushing them and educating them for success and positive lifestyle changes. Positivity, encouragement, and being confident in one’s self, mind and body are all part of Brittney’s big picture. Brittney encourages you to allow her to tour you around the gym and attend one free personal training orientation. Through positivity and determination any dream can be obtained.
